The biggest sailing sports event takes place together with the summer
party where lots of different activities take place. More than 3 Million
people visit this huge week of events, coming from all over Germany and
other countries. International music stars and 50 music bands will
perform on big hall stages, a flee market is held, an art exhibition will
take place and lots of other activities will take place. Easy to access
restaurants areas and beer parties will all be part of the event also.
The waterbike event
In the city centre of Kiel, "The Kieler Woche waterbike
race" will be organised for the very first time!
With 1000 Euros of price money, lots of Journalists and television and free
access for waterbikers to ALL Kieler Woche events this might become an
unbelievable race.
The races:
- Long distance
- 100 Meter sprint
Besides the race in the centre of Kiel and all interesting profits for
waterbikers there will be a camping facility at the yacht club, with a
launching ramp for the boats.
Since the Eutiner wasserspectacle will take place the week after, the
organisation from the Kieler Woche will provide a storage in a closed hall
for waterbike trailers for the whole week between the Kieler event and the
event in Eutin, which is not far from Kiel.
Please note, the waterbike race is planned on Sunday 27th of June
between 11:00h and 14:00h.
